Can I remove the Standard Excess?

For policies purchased BEFORE you have departed Australia:

You can remove the standard $200 excess or reduce the excess amount to $100 for the Comprehensive, Standard Saver, Basics, Domestic Plus, Snow Sports Plus and Frequent Traveller Plus policies by paying an additional premium. 

To reduce your Standard Excess when you are purchasing online:

a) Enter your trip details to get a quote

b) Select the level of cover that you require

c) You will be taken to the Options screen

d) In the Options screen, you can add on options to tailor your policy to suit you, including choosing the level of Standard Excess that you require.

For policies purchased AFTER you have already left Australia:

The excess for already overseas policies is $500. It is NOT possible to reduce or remove this excess.
