Is Pregnancy covered?
Pregnancy is a Pre-existing Medical Condition that may be covered depending on your individual circumstances.
There are important limitations to the benefits you are eligible to receive. Our policies only provides cover for your pregnancy in limited circumstances. There is no cover under any circumstances for childbirth at any stage of the pregnancy or for costs relating to the health or care of a newborn child.
Cover is available if you are pregnant if your claim arises from unexpected serious *complications of pregnancy and childbirth that occur:
- Up to the end of the 23rd week of pregnancy if you are pregnant with a single child; or
- Up to the end of the 19th week of pregnancy if you are pregnant with twins or multiple children.
*Complications mean any secondary diagnosis occurring prior to, during the course of, concurrent with, or as a result of the pregnancy, which may adversely affect the pregnancy outcome.
Cover is subject to the policy terms, conditions, limits and exclusions in the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS).
