What is the difference between Off-Piste and On-Piste skiing?
As per our PDS, Off-Piste means any area away from prepared ski runs that:
a) is outside of resort boundaries; and
b) is where skiing or snowboarding is allowed.
Generally, off-piste describes any areas within the resort boundaries that are not marked trails. These areas are typically not groomed or maintained, and the terrain can be more challenging, including powder snow, trees, and unmarked obstacles. It is important to note that Off-Piste skiing may involve higher risks.
Although the term On-Piste skiing is not defined in the Product Disclosure Statement, On-Piste generally refers to skiing or snowboarding on prepared and maintained ski runs that are marked within a resort’s boundaries. These trails are groomed for safe and controlled skiing and snowboarding.
