How much cover is available for Luggage and Personal Effects?
The amount you’re covered for depends on the type of policy you choose. Each policy has an overall limit for all luggage and personal items combined, as well as sub limits for specific types of items like mobile phones, cameras and tablets. For example, the combined limit can range from $2,000 on some policies up to $15,000 on others.
There are also limits for single items. Unspecified items have set maximums, such as $1,500 for mobile phones, $3,000 for stand-alone cameras and video recorders and $750 for other unspecified items. You can choose to insure high-value items separately if you need extra protection.
Your Certificate of Insurance will show the exact limits that apply to your policy.
Every claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be paid if it meets the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before you travel.
