How much cover is available for Travel Delay Expenses?

Travel Delay Expenses cover reasonable extra costs you might face if your pre-booked transport is unexpectedly cancelled, rescheduled or delayed. The amount you’re covered for depends on your policy type. The maximum limit is capped at $2,000; the travel delay benefit works to reimburse you $200 for reasonable additional meals and accommodation if your pre-booked carrier has been cancelled and rescheduled or delayed and the rescheduled departure time or delay is for at least 6 hours. Then for each subsequent full 24-hour period beyond the initial 6-hour delay, you receive another $200 up to the maximum of $2,000.

Your Certificate of Insurance will show the exact limits that apply to your policy.

Every claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be paid if it meets the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before you travel.
