Does travel insurance cover me if there is an airport strike?
You may be covered if your travel is disrupted due to an unexpected airport strike, as long as the strike was not a known event when you purchased your policy. This means that if a strike occurs after you have bought your cover and it affects your flights, you may be able to claim certain benefits depending on your policy type.
If the strike was already announced or widely reported before you purchased your policy, it would be considered a known event and cover would not apply.
Every claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be paid if it meets the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before you travel.
