If I'm travelling with my sister and her child - can we buy a family policy?

No, family policies can only cover:

• You, your spouse (or someone legally recognised in Australia as your de facto partner) and your dependants; or
• You, your spouse (or someone legally recognised in Australia as your de facto partner) and your grandchildren
• You, your son or daughter and your grandchildren.

Dependant children may be your own children or grandchildren under the age of 21 and not in full time employment.

You will need to purchase your own separate travel insurance policy
