Can I claim travel costs if my sporting event is rescheduled?

Travel insurance does not provide cover if a sporting event itself is rescheduled. Any costs you incur to rearrange flights, accommodation, or other bookings in this situation may not be claimable under your policy. 

If you have a Comprehensive, Snow Sports Plus, Frequent Traveller Saver, or Domestic Plus policy, cover may be available for reasonable special event transport costs if your scheduled transport is cancelled, delayed, shortened, or diverted and this causes you to miss a wedding, funeral, conference, sporting event, or prepaid tour and that means you cannot arrive on time. This cover only applies when you cannot recover the costs from your carrier and other conditions in the PDS for this benefit are met. 

Every claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be paid if it meets the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before you travel
