I have a local motorcycle licence, but not an Australian motorcycle licence - am I covered?
There would be no cover under our policies if you do not also have an Australian motorcycle licence.
You are also NOT automatically covered to ride a motorcycle, moped or scooter. To be covered to ride a motorcycle, moped or scooter you need to:
- Take out the Motorcycle Pack and pay the additional premium
- Comply with the requirements as per stated in our PDS regarding riding or being a passenger on a motorcycle, moped or scooter.
We define a motorcycle as any two-wheeled or three-wheeled motor vehicle with an engine capacity greater than 50cc.
If you are the rider of a motorcycle you must:
- hold a current Australian Motorcycle Licence (Provisional or higher) valid for the same class of motorcycle, regardless of the local laws; and
- a licence valid for the country that you are riding in (many countries will recognise your valid Australian Motorcycle Licence, however it is your responsibility to confirm this and to comply with the local licensing requirements).
Cover is subject to the policy terms, conditions, limits and exclusions in the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS)
