What are sub-limits in travel insurance?

A sub-limit means the maximum dollar amount we will pay to cover a specific item, event, or loss that falls under a broader section benefit limit in your policy.

For example, if you have a Luggage and Personal Effects benefit limit of $10,000 under a Comprehensive policy, there may be a sub-limit of $1,500 for items like a mobile phone.

Every claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be paid if it meets the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before you travel.
