Can I claim if my trip is cancelled or rescheduled due to COVID-19?

If your trip is cancelled or rescheduled due to COVID-19, you should first contact your airline, cruise line, or travel provider to see if they will refund, credit, or rebook your travel. Travel insurance does not provide cover for every COVID-19 situation.

Depending on the policy you purchased, you may have some cover for COVID-19 Trip Cancellation and Disruption if you personally test positive for COVID-19 and can no longer travel as planned. However, there is no cover if your trip is affected by government border closures, quarantine requirements not linked to a diagnosis, or general changes made by airlines or travel providers.

Every claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be paid if it meets the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before you travel.
