Am I covered if I have cold or flu like symptoms and choose not to travel?

You may be eligible for cover if you are certified by a medical practitioner as medically unfit to travel due to illness, depending on your circumstances, sickness/symptoms, the type of policy you hold, and the type of expenses you are seeking.

For COVID-19-related illness: If you are diagnosed with COVID-19, and the diagnosis occurs 72 hours or more after purchasing your policy, and a medical practitioner certifies that you are medically unfit to travel  you may be eligible for cover under the COVID-19 Trip Cancellation and Disruption benefit, subject to the terms, conditions, exclusions, limits of your policy.

Eligibility criteria, policy terms, conditions, exclusions, limits and sub limits apply. Consider the PDS prior to deciding on which policy is right for you and your needs.

Any advice is general advice only and does not take into account your individual objectives, financial situation, or needs. Please consider the PDS before making any decisions regarding the purchase of travel insurance.

As each individual’s circumstances are different, we will assess each claim on a case-by-case basis in accordance with your specific circumstances, policy terms, and Certificate of Insurance.
