Does travel insurance cover border closures, lockdowns, or travel bans?

Travel insurance does not provide cover for claims that arise from government-imposed border closures, lockdowns, lockouts, or travel bans. This applies both within Australia and overseas.

If your trip is affected by these kinds of restrictions, costs such as cancellations, additional accommodation, or alternative transport are not covered under Fast Cover policies.
