What am I covered for if I contract COVID-19 while overseas and I can't fly back to Australia on my original return date?

If you contract COVID-19 while overseas, you can claim for your Trip Cancellation and Disruption expenses up to the limit specified on your policy certificate for:

  1. Hotel quarantine/isolation costs
  2. Flight rescheduling costs
  3. Cancellation costs of prepaid accommodation, tours and flights that are not able to be reimbursed by your travel provider.
  4. Additional meal costs that you incur beyond your original return date

Note:

  • The Basics policy does not provide for Trip Cancellation and Disruption costs.
  • The Comprehensive policy provides for Trip Cancellation and Disruption costs up to a maximum of $5000.
  • The Standard Saver policy provides for Trip Cancellation and Disruption costs up to a maximum of $3000.
  • Your policy will be automatically extended up until you are able to return home, following your isolation or quarantine period.
  • Your COVID-19 diagnosis must have been confirmed by a PCR test.
