Am I covered for loss of income if my return home is delayed due to COVID-19?

The Loss of Income benefit only applies if you are injured on your overseas trip and, as a direct result of that injury, you are unable to return to your usual occupation in Australia due to circumstances as explained in the PDS. This benefit does not extend to claims that arise from illness, including COVID-19.

This means that if your return home is delayed because you have contracted COVID-19, you would not be able to claim for loss of income under this benefit.

Every claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be paid if it meets the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before you travel.
