If the airline gives me a full credit for my airfares, but my new fares are more expensive, can I claim for the extra cost?
If your airline provides you with a full credit for your original flights, this is considered that you have already been fully compensated for your loss. In this situation, there is no cover for any extra costs if your new flights are more expensive when you rebook at a later date.
However, depending on the policy chosen, if your flight was cancelled due to a reason covered under your policy, and at that time you are able to reschedule to another date, there may be consideration for the additional cost of the rescheduled flight, up to the limits of your policy.
Cover is subject to the policy terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions outlined in the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS).
