If my family has two separate travel insurance policies, do we pay two excesses for the same claim?

When family members hold separate policies, each policy is assessed individually. If you all need to claim for the same event, the applicable policy excess would apply to each claim. This means that more than one excess may need to be paid if claims are lodged under separate policies.

For families wanting to be covered under one policy and share a single excess per claim event, a Family policy may be considered if eligibility requirements are met. Always check the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) to understand how excesses apply.

Every claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be paid if it meets the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before you travel.
