Does domestic travel insurance cover rental vehicle damage?

Fast Cover’s Australian domestic travel insurance policies provide cover of up to $5,000 for the rental vehicle excess component of your rental vehicle insurance with your car hire company in Australia. Our rental vehicle excess benefit does not directly provide cover for any damage to the eligible rental vehicle you hire on your domestic trip. Instead, our Domestic Plus policy can cover up to $5,000 for the rental vehicle excess your rental vehicle company would charge for damage caused to the vehicle under your rental vehicle insurance. To ensure you have cover for damage to your rental vehicle, consider taking out rental vehicle insurance directly with the car hire company.
