Does Rental Vehicle Excess cover the full cost of repairing the hire car?

No. Rental Vehicle Excess cover reimburses either the rental vehicle insurance excess or the cost of repairing the rental vehicle, whichever is lower, up to the benefit limit on your Certificate of insurance.

It does not cover additional repair costs outside the rental company’s insurance process, nor does it pay for separate repair arrangements you choose independently.
