Am I covered if I am travelling to a destination located more than 3,000 metres in altitude, but I am not hiking?

If your travel destination is situated at an altitude higher than 3,000 metres—even if you’re not participating in hiking or trekking activities—you’ll need to consider having the Adventure Pack add-on included with your policy for cover to apply.

Cover is available up to a maximum altitude of 6,000 metres and is not available under the Basics policy.

Whether a claim is payable will depend on your policy type, the specific circumstances, the type of expenses you’re claiming, and the policy terms, conditions, exclusions, limits and sub-limits.

Every claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be paid if it meets the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before you travel.
