Is camel, donkey or elephant riding covered?

Camel, donkey, or elephant riding is considered an animal encounter, and is automatically covered under Sports and Leisure Activities. The activity must be done in a controlled, enclosed environment with a licensed operator.

Whether a claim for animal encounters is payable will depend on your policy type, the specific circumstances, the type of expenses you’re claiming, and the policy terms, conditions, exclusions, limits and sub-limits.

Every claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be paid if it meets the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before you travel.
