Is Diving underwater covered?
Diving underwater using an artificial breathing apparatus is included under Fast Cover travel insurance policies, provided the depth does not exceed 10 metres and you either hold an open water diving licence recognised in Australia or dive with an instructor licensed for these activities.
If you wish to dive between 10 and 30 metres, you must purchase the Adventure Pack add-on. The same licensing or supervision requirements apply. There is no cover for diving deeper than 30 metres.
If your trip includes one or more overnight stays in Australia, or four or more nights overseas on a cruise ship, you must also specify Cruise Cover for cover to apply.
Whether a claim for diving underwater is payable will depend on your policy type, the specific circumstances, the type of expenses you’re claiming, and the policy terms, conditions, exclusions, limits and sub-limits.
Every claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be paid if it meets the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before you travel.
