Is Shark cage diving covered?
Shark cage diving is included under Fast Cover travel insurance policies under specific diving conditions listed in our PDS and include below.
- Cover is available if the dive is conducted using an artificial breathing apparatus at a depth no greater than 10 metres, and you either hold an open water diving licence recognised in Australia or are diving with an instructor licensed for these activities.
- The activity must not be undertaken in a professional capacity. If your trip includes one or more overnight stays in Australia, or four or more nights overseas on a cruise ship, you must also specify Cruise Cover.
Whether a claim for shark cage diving is payable will depend on your policy type, the specific circumstances, the type of expenses you’re claiming, and the policy terms, conditions, exclusions, limits and sub-limits.
Every claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be paid if it meets the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before you travel.
