Can my child’s friends be included on a Family travel insurance policy?

A Family policy only allows cover for you, your spouse or partner, and your own dependant children or grandchildren. To be considered dependants, children must be aged 20 and under, not in full-time employment, and travelling with at least one of the adults listed on the Certificate of Insurance for the full itinerary.

Friends of your children are not considered dependants under the definition of a Family policy. If they are travelling with you, they would need to take out their own separate policy to be covered.
