Can I claim for the cost of my airline ticket if it was paid for by someone else?
Depending on the policy chosen and the circumstances of your claim, you may be eligible to claim for the cost of your airline ticket — even if it was paid for by someone else — provided certain conditions are met. These conditions include, but are not limited to:
- The airline ticket is issued in your name
- You are the insured person named on your Certificate of Insurance
- The reason for your claim is coverable under your Fast Cover Travel Insurance Policy
However, you generally cannot claim for costs that you have paid on behalf of any other person, unless that person is also an insured person named on your Certificate of Insurance.
Eligibility criteria, policy terms, conditions, exclusions, limits and sub limits apply. Consider the PDS prior to deciding on which policy is right for you and your needs.
Any advice is general advice only and does not take into account your individual objectives, financial situation, or needs. Please consider the PDS before making any decisions regarding the purchase of travel insurance.
As each individual’s circumstances are different, we will assess each claim on a case-by-case basis in accordance with your specific circumstances, policy terms, and Certificate of Insurance.
