Do I need a return ticket for my policy to be valid?
If you’re an Australian citizen or permanent resident, you don’t need to hold a return ticket for your policy to be valid, but your trip must end in Australia. When buying your policy, you can simply enter the date you plan to return home as your “Return Date.” This sets the length of your cover. Policies can be extended online while overseas, but they cannot be shortened once issued.
If you’re a temporary resident of Australia, for example, non-Australian citizen or non-permanent resident, you must hold a valid return ticket to Australia at the time of purchase. This is one of the eligibility requirements for purchasing a Fast Cover travel insurance policy.
Every claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be paid if it meets the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before you travel.
