Is travel insurance compulsory?

Travel insurance isn’t a legal requirement for most destinations, but some countries might make it mandatory, especially if proof of insurance is needed for a visa. Even where it’s not compulsory,  travel insurance can be considered to give you financial protection for things like medical emergencies, cancellations, or lost luggage.

Every claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be paid if it meets the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before you travel.
