What is Specified High Value Item Cover?

If you are travelling with valuable items, you may have the option to specify them as Specified high value item depending on the policy you have taken out with Fast Cover Travel Insurance. If you have a Comprehensive, Snow Sports Plus or Frequent Traveller Saver policy, and would like to cover your valuable items for more than what they are covered for under the standard Luggage and Personal Effects benefit terms and conditions, you can choose to specify them as a Specified high value item for an additional premium.  These declared items are called Specified high value items and will be listed on Your Certificate of insurance. Please note, you are not able to specify your items as Specified high value item if you hold a Standard Saver, Basics, or Domestic Plus policy.

Specified High-Value Item Cover Details:

  • The maximum limit for any single Specified high value item or set is $5,000, and the combined total for all Specified High-Value Items is $10,000.
  • Jewellery, watches (other than smart watches), fragile or brittle items, bicycles, and watercraft (other than surfboards) cannot be declared as Specified high value items.
  • No depreciation is applied to Specified high value items, but the most that will be paid is the original purchase price of the specified item.
  • Receipts and/or valuations must be provided in the event of a claim.
  • Separately insuring Specified high value item does not reduce the overall Luggage and Personal Effects limit for your policy, as this limit is for all Unspecified items and Specified high value items combined.

Eligibility criteria, policy terms, conditions, exclusions, limits and sub limits apply. Consider the PDS prior to deciding on which policy is right for you and your needs.

Any advice is general advice only and does not take into account your individual objectives, financial situation, or needs. Please consider the PDS before making any decisions regarding the purchase of travel insurance.

As each individual’s circumstances are different, we will assess each claim on a case-by-case basis in accordance with your specific circumstances, policy terms, and Certificate of Insurance.
