If my iPhone was a gift, is it still covered if it is lost or stolen?
Yes, the iPhone can be covered under Benefit 14: Luggage and Personal Effects up to a maximum of $1 500, if you have this cover under your policy.
If the item is lost, stolen or damaged, you would still need to prove ownership of the item. You can do this by requesting the receipt from the person who gifted you the iPhone, or by providing us with a photo of the item, along with the warranty card or user manual.
If you make a claim, we will fully assess your claim, as everyone's circumstances are different and we will assess each claim on a case by case basis.
Cover is subject to the policy terms, conditions, limits and exclusions in the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS).
