How do sub limits work if I have the Basics policy with 2,000 of luggage cover?

If you’ve added the optional luggage cover to your Basics policy, you’re covered for up to $2,000 in total for all your luggage and personal items combined. Sub limits still apply, which means each type of item has its own maximum amount you can claim within that overall $2,000 limit.

For example, the standard sub limits include amounts such as:

  • up to $1,500 for mobile phones and other portable communication devices

  • up to $1,000 for tablets

  • up to $3,000 for stand-alone cameras and video recorders

  • up to $750 for any other unspecified item or set

These sub limits apply even if you haven’t reached your total $2,000 policy limit.

If you need higher cover for an individual item, you can upgrade your policy to a higher level of cover.

Your Certificate of Insurance will show exactly what applies to your policy.

Every claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be paid if it meets the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before you travel.
