Do I have to pay the medical and hospital fees first and then make a claim?

If you see a doctor:

You should pay the doctor’s consultation fees, keep the receipt and doctor’s report and submit a claim for your expenses.

If you are hospitalised:

lease contact the Worldwide 24/7 Emergency Assistance team as soon as reasonably possible. If you are too ill to do this, give your policy details to your travelling companion or medical team, who will be able to contact the Worldwide 24/7 Emergency Assistance team on your behalf. The Worldwide 24/7 Emergency Assistance team will communicate with your overseas medical team as to your condition and treatment, assess your situation and work out what would need to be done and if required, assist you to find ways to pay any amount.

Claims will be assessed on a case by case basis, as all situations will differ depending on your circumstances.
