What is the Overseas Hospital Cash Payment benefit under my travel insurance policy?
Depending on the policy you hold, the Overseas Hospital Cash Payment benefit may be available if you are hospitalised for more than 48 continuous hours during your overseas trip. If eligible, this benefit provides up to $50 for your out-of-pocket non-medical expenses such as phone calls, magazine newspapers, TV hire, and internet access for each 24-hour period you are in the hospital, after you have been hospitalised for more than 48 continuous hours on your overseas trip.
The Overseas Hospital Cash Payment benefit is only available under the following policies: Comprehensive, Snow Sports Plus, and Frequent Traveller Saver. It is not available under the Standard Saver, Basics, or Domestic Plus policies.
This benefit is subject to the terms and conditions of your policy, including applicable limits and exclusions. It does not apply to hospitalisation lasting 48 hours or less and does not provide cover for claims arising from COVID-19.
Eligibility criteria, policy terms, conditions, exclusions, limits and sub limits apply. Consider the PDS prior to deciding on which policy is right for you and your needs.
Any advice is general advice only and does not take into account your individual objectives, financial situation, or needs. Please consider the PDS before making any decisions regarding the purchase of travel insurance.
As each individual’s circumstances are different, we will assess each claim on a case-by-case basis in accordance with your specific circumstances, policy terms, conditions, exclusions and Certificate of Insurance.
