What is the 'Hospital Cash Payment'?

This benefit reimburses you for your out-of-pocket non-medical expenses (e.g. phone calls, magazine, newspapers, TV hire and internet access) if you have been hospitalised during your overseas trip. 

You will receive $50 for each 24-hour period you are in hospital, after you are in hospital for more than 48 continuous hours. 

Note: 

  • This benefit is only available with select policies. 
  • We will not pay for any claims related to COVID-19 under this benefit. 
  • The benefit does not apply to the first 48 hours that you are hospitalised. 

As each individual’s circumstances are different, in the event of a claim, our claims team will assess each claim on a case by case basis.
