What is 'Trip Disruption Expenses'?

The Trip Disruption Expenses benefit provides cover for your reasonable additional travel, accommodation and meal expenses which you cannot recover from any other source, if a disruption to your trip occurs during your trip, is outside of your control and dur to reasons including:

• you becoming sick or injured whilst on your trip,
• your scheduled or connecting transport being cancelled, delayed, shortened or diverted because of an unexpected strike, riot, hijack, civil protest, severe weather or natural disaster,
• you being unable to continue on your trip because your passport, travel documents or credits are stolen.

Note:

• This benefit is only available with select policies.
• If you make a claim under this benefit and Benefit 5: Trip Cancellation Expenses for the same or similar expense, we will pay for the higher of the two amounts only.
