What is 'Special Event Transport expenses' cover?
The Special Event Transport Expenses benefit provides cover for reasonable additional travel expenses if your scheduled transport is unable to convey you to your special event because it is cancelled, delayed, shortened or diverted during your trip and would result in you not arriving on time to your special event.
A special event is your pre-booked, pre-paid and pre-arranged wedding, funeral, conference, concert, sporting event, cruise or tour package.
Note:
- Cover for Special Event Transport Expenses is only available if you chose the Comprehensive, Snow Sports Plus, Domestic Plus and Frequent Traveller Saver policies. Cover is not available under the Standard Saver and Basics policies.
For special events occurring overseas during your overseas trip:
- We will pay your reasonable additional travel expenses, up to the $5,000, to reach the special event on time if your scheduled transport is cancelled, delayed, shortened or diverted during your overseas trip and that means you would not arrive on time.
For special events occurring in Australia during your domestic trip:
- We will pay your reasonable additional domestic travel expenses, up to $5,000, to reach the special event on time if your scheduled transport is cancelled, delayed, shortened or diverted during your domestic trip and that means you would not arrive on time.
As each individual’s circumstances are different, we will assess each claim on a case-by-case basis and in accordance with your specific circumstances, relevant policy terms and conditions, and Certificate of Insurance.
