What is 'Special Event Transport expenses' cover?

The Special Event Transport Expenses benefit provides cover if your scheduled transport is cancelled, delayed, shortened or diverted and which would result in you missing your event or pre-booked travel arrangements. Your event or pre-booked travel arrangement can be your pre-booked, pre-paid and pre-arranged wedding, funeral, conference, sporting event, cruise or tour package.

Note:

• You only have this cover if you chose the Comprehensive, Snow Sports Plus, Domestic Plus and Frequent Traveller Saver policies.
• For special events occurring in Australia:
  • If you are returning from an overseas trip and the special event is scheduled to start more than 72 hours after the scheduled return from your overseas trip, we will pay your reasonable additional travel expenses, up to the limits set out in the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS), to reach the special event on time if your scheduled transport is cancelled, delayed, shortened or diverted during your overseas trip and that means you would not arrive on time.
  • If you have purchased a Domestic Plus policy, we will pay your reasonable additional domestic travel expenses, up to the limits set out in the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS), to reach the special event on time if your scheduled transport is cancelled, delayed, shortened or diverted during your domestic trip and that means you would not arrive on time.
