Should I extend my cover just in case?

The return date on your policy should be the date that you are booked to return to Australia.

If you are sick or injured and it is for a reason for which you can claim under your policy, and you are unable to return to Australia on the date specified on your policy, your policy will be automatically extended free of charge, until you are able to return.
If you are unsure whether or not you will be able to claim, you should extend your policy to the required date. If the Claims Team determine that your delay home is covered under your policy, you may submit a claim for the cost of the extension.

Note:

If you do extend your cover, but return home before the date that you have extended your cover to, there is no refund for the unused portion of your policy.

Cover is subject to the policy terms, conditions, limits and exclusions in the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS).
