There is serious fire in the area that I am travelling to, can I claim for cancellation?

You would have provision to claim for Trip Cancellation Expenses if the area to which you are travelling to is directly impacted by the fires, as long as it was not a known event when you purchased the policy.

For example: If there is fire around the area where you are travelling to, but you can still get to your destination (that is, flights are not cancelled as a result of the fires) and the accommodation that you have booked has not been cancelled, then you would not be able to claim for Trip Cancellation Expenses.
