Is it worth it to get travel insurance?

The value of insurance can certainly be worth it when you consider the cost is relatively small compared to the cost of your total holiday. Costs can easily be $100 000 AUD or more for an unexpected overseas hospital visit. These costs can easily escalate with extended hospital stays and when a medivac is required to bring you back to Australia.
