Does travel insurance cover riding Lime or Bird electric scooters?

Travel insurance can provide cover while you are riding Lime or Bird electric scooters, provided you follow the conditions set out in the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS). This includes meeting any local licensing and road rules in the country you are visiting, and wearing a helmet where required.

Cover may be limited to certain benefits such as medical expenses if you are injured. It does not extend to liability for damage to the scooter itself or claims made by the scooter hire company.

Every claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be paid if it meets the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before you travel.
