If I claim for cancellation costs for one parent on a Family policy, can the rest of the family still use the policy to travel?

If one parent in a Family policy claims for their cancellation costs only, the rest of the family would still have cover to travel as planned.
If both parents submit a claim for cancellation costs the policy will end, and a new policy will need to be purchased for a new trip.
