My eye sight is getting blurry and I'm having trouble seeing things, am I covered to see the optometrist?

If your claim arises as a result of circumstances covered under the policy, cover is available under the Overseas Emergency Medical and Hospital Expenses benefit for you to visit the optometrist if your eye problem is due to an unexpected medical condition which has been diagnosed by an overseas medical practitioner in writing while you are on your overseas trip.

Note:

  • There is no cover for general eye sight failure and the resulting eye examinations, glasses or contact lenses.
  • There is no cover for optometry visits if you are travelling domestically, as such costs are covered by your Medicare card and/or private health insurance.

As each individual’s circumstances are different, in the event of a claim, our claims team will assess each claim on a case by case basis.

Cover is subject to the policy terms, conditions, limits and exclusions in the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS)
