Does travel insurance cover cancellation if I’m in the Armed Forces and recalled to duty?

Some Fast Cover policies have Trip Cancellation Expenses benefit where if you or your close relative or companion are a member of Australian Armed Forces members (Army, Navy, Air Force). If your pre-arranged leave is unexpectedly cancelled due to an emergency, or you are unexpectedly posted overseas, you may be able to claim under Trip Cancellation Expenses.

We will pay the lesser of your cancellation or rescheduling costs. If you receive a refund or credit for your cancellation, we may pay the difference between that amount and your new rescheduling costs. 

Every claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be paid if it meets the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before you travel.
