Am I covered for cancellation if I'm in the Armed Forces and I'm recalled to work?

We have special provisions in place for Trip Cancellation Expenses for members of the Australian Armed Forces (army/navy/air force) if your pre-arranged leave is unexpectedly cancelled due to an emergency or if you are posted overseas unexpectedly. We will pay the lesser of cancellation or rescheduling costs. Where your cancellation costs are recovered (i.e a refund or credit), we will pay the difference between the recovered amount and the new re-scheduling costs.

However, if you have bought a policy where there was a high expectation of you being recalled, you may not be covered as our policies provide cover for unexpected circumstances. We do note that everyone’s situation will be different, and all claims will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
