How long does my bag have to be missing before I can claim?
You can submit a claim as soon as you have the documents that confirm your bag is missing.
If your airline has lost your bag, you’ll need written confirmation from them stating that it has been lost. Once you receive that documentation, you can go ahead and submit your claim.
If your bag has been stolen, you must report it as soon as reasonably possible, ideally within 24 hours, to the police or the relevant transport provider you were travelling with at the time. Make sure you get a written report, as this is required when lodging your claim.
Every claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be paid if it meets the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before you travel.
