Can I return home during my policy period and then resume travelling overseas on the same policy?
You may be eligible to continue your trip under the same Fast Cover travel insurance policy if you return temporarily to your home in Australia, provided that certain conditions outlined in the policy are met. These conditions include, but are not limited to:
- You must have at least 14 days remaining of the period of insurance as noted on your certificate of insurance;
- Following the resumption of your trip, your policy will remain valid until the end date shown on your certificate of insurance or your permanent return home, whichever comes first.
Please note that:
- If you return home early for any reason, cover from your policy will be suspended from the time you return to your home until the time you leave your home to continue your trip.
- We will not pay any costs in relation to your return to Australia unless the costs are covered under your policy.
- If you return home early and do not intend further travel, we will not refund the unused portion of your policy.
Eligibility criteria, policy terms, conditions, exclusions, limits and sub limits apply. Consider the PDS prior to deciding on which policy is right for you and your needs.
Any advice is general advice only and does not take into account your individual objectives, financial situation, or needs. Please consider the PDS before making any decisions regarding the purchase of travel insurance.
As each individual’s circumstances are different, we will assess each claim on a case-by-case basis in accordance with your specific circumstances, policy terms, conditions, exclusions and Certificate of Insurance.
