I've bought a policy but I've changed my travel destinations — what should I do?
Fast Cover allows you to purchase a policy that covers certain regions for travel insurance purposes. Each region provides cover for travel to certain destinations. For example, below is a summary of destinations covered when you select one of our 6 regions:
- Domestic: Provides cover for travel within Australia (including Thursday Island, Lord Howe Island, Norfolk Island, Christmas Island, and Cocos (Keeling) Island).
- New Zealand: Provides cover for travel in New Zealand and Australia (Domestic).
- South Pacific: Provides cover for travel around the South Pacific region and also New Zealand and Australia (Domestic).
- Asia: Provides cover for travel around the Asia and South Pacific regions and also New Zealand and Australia (Domestic).
- Europe: Provides cover for travel around the Europe, Asia and South Pacific regions and also New Zealand and Australia (Domestic).
- Worldwide: Provides cover for travel to North, Central, and South America (including Hawaii and the Caribbean), Africa, the Middle East, Antarctica, and Sub-Antarctic Islands. This is the highest region. This means it provides cover for the countries under all the other regions listed above including Europe, Asia, South Pacific, and also New Zealand and Australia (Domestic).
If your travel plans change and the countries you are now travelling to are within the same region for which you originally purchased your policy, or in a lower region that also includes cover these destinations, you don’t need to make any changes.
For example, if you purchased a policy for the Europe region and are now also visiting a country in Asia, your existing policy will still provide cover because the Europe region also covers travel within Asia. If you purchased a policy for the Europe region and are now also visiting a country in South America, you won’t automatically have cover in that country because destinations in South America require the higher Worldwide region.
