Are children covered under a Family travel insurance policy if they travel without an adult?

For children to be covered under a Family policy, they must travel with at least one of the adults listed on the Certificate of Insurance for the entire trip. If children travel on their own to another city or destination without an insured adult, they will not be covered under the Family policy.

In this situation, a separate policy would need to be purchased for the children to ensure they have travel insurance for their journey.

Every claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be paid if it meets the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before you travel.
