Does the unlimited cancellation benefit apply to the first trip on a Frequent Traveller Saver policy?

The cancellation benefit for Frequent Traveller Saver policies begins on the date that you choose for it to start.
When you take out a Frequent Traveller Saver policy, you will be asked to enter the date that you want your cover to start ("Start cover on") . This is the date that the cancellation benefit will begin for all the trips that you will be taking.
For example:
You buy your Frequent Traveller Saver policy four weeks before your first trip:

* If the date you select to start your policy is the date that you purchase your policy, the cancellation cover will start straight away and you will have cancellation cover for the four weeks before that first trip.

So if you are unexpectedly injured 2 weeks before that first trip and unable to travel, you can submit a claim for the cancellation expenses.

* If you choose to start your policy on the date that you will actually leave for your first trip, the cancellation cover will not start until the departure date of that first trip.

So if you are unexpectedly injured 2 weeks before that first trip and unable to travel, you would not be able to claim for the cancellation expenses as the cancellation benefit has not yet started.

Cover is subject to the policy terms, conditions, limits and exclusions in the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS).
