Am I covered if my belongings are stolen from my tent while I’m camping?
No, belongings stolen from a tent are not covered if the tent is left unattended, even if it was zipped up or secured. For a claim to be considered under the Luggage and Personal Effects benefit, items generally need to be stored securely, such as in locked accommodation or a locked vehicle. The most we will pay if your luggage and personal effects are stolen from your unattended motor vehicle during daylight hours, provided you have complied with the conditions of cover, is $200 for each item, and $2,000 in total for all stolen items, even if You have purchased specified high value item cover.
Every claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be paid if it meets the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before you travel.
