Is my Apple watch considered a watch?
An Apple Watch is not treated as a standard watch under your cover. It’s classified as an electronic device, similar to a mobile phone or tablet. This means it follows the same rules and sub limits that apply to electrical devices, not the rules for regular watches.
It also means it can’t be listed as a Specified high value item, because smart watches are grouped with electronic devices rather than traditional jewellery or watches.
Every claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be paid if it meets the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before you travel.
