Am I covered if I'm injured and need to be evacuated while hiking in Australia?
If you are hiking in Australia and you are sick or injured, you should call 000 for assistance as you would normally do if you were at home.
You can also seek assistance from the relevant authorities where you are visiting, including the hiking tour organisers, resort, hotel or airline, bus line or train line.
Note:
- As you are travelling in Australia, you are still covered under Medicare and/or your Private Health Insurance.
- There is no medical cover, including medical evacuation under our Domestic Plus policies.
