Is equipment that I hire during my trip covered under the luggage benefit?

Hired equipment isn’t covered under the luggage benefit. The cover only applies to items that belong to you, and hired or rented equipment doesn’t meet that requirement. 

If hired gear is lost, stolen or damaged, the hire company may have its own insurance or damage waiver options, so it’s a good idea to check with them directly before your trip. 

Every claim is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis and will only be paid if it meets the terms, conditions, limits and exclusions in your policy. Always check the PDS carefully so you know exactly what’s included before you travel.
